Concentrating On The Numbers
With marketing, you can get washed away by the ‘fluff’. Promoting a blog post here, raising your brand here, and replying to customer enquiries there.
Even though these marketing elements are important, it is essential that you always revert back to the numbers.
Let me explain: Marketing is about driving more money, more leads and more sales into a business. It is another element that assists the sales department.
If this is the case, marketers have to focus on the numbers.
This could be KPI’s, leads, subscribers to ROI.
The more you focus on how your marketing is affecting a business, the more success you will be (and your boss will be happier, if you have one).
Yes, brand awareness is good in certain situations, but if you’re constantly having this as a reason for marketing, stop.
Look at the nitty gritty of your marketing and you will become successful, because you will understand why things are working and why things might not be.
Here’s a list that you can focus on that will vastly improve your marketing and it’s success;
- Lead conversions
- Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Google Analytics
- Email subscribers (where they travel to and where they click)
- The sales / marketing funnels
- Website conversions
- Return On Investment (ROI)
- Visitors, Leads to Customers %
- Pay Per Click conversions (PPC)
- Marketing plan & Strategy
There’s many more elements that can be included in this list, but you can hopefully paint a picture that I’m trying to form.
This list makes you focus on the why, and not just marketing for the sake of it.
This should be included in a marketing plan so you know know exactly where to market.
Now Its Down To You
If you only learn one element from this blog post, is that you need to focus on the numbers.
You will be more of a success and your business will be too.
